EXTRUSION PROCESS EXPERIMENTATION
Extrusion is a process where the material goes through a spinneret. I choose to test this technique by experimenting with different materials, spinnerets and pressures. Finally, I stopped on the principle of gravity extrusion. In this process, it is the gravity which allows the material to pass through the spinneret.
RECIPE AND NET EXPERIMENTATION
During this project, the challenge was the balance between material consistency and net geometry. Plaster seemed to be a good solution because his rapid solidification allowed him to freeze the substance in his fall. However, basic plaster changed from liquid to solid too fast. So I looked for a solution to make the setting slower. I also gave it a smoother texture. When I found the right recipe I tested the final result using different grids.
