During an internship at the ALMA MATER workshop held by Aliénor Martineau, I experimented with glazes and engobes using local ceramics from the Ile d’Oléron.
This workshop allowed me to experiment with a new practice, with new methodologies. Ceramic enamels creation is a « blind » technique because the mixture will react to the oven’s heat. The final result only appears when the piece is baked. Testing is necessary to predict the enamel’s effect if you are looking for a particular one. Furthermore, many parameters can infuence the enamel’s reaction, such as composition, proportions, application and support.
